Obituary of Margaret J McLaughlin

Margaret J McLaughlin, 89, of Oxford, NJ, formerly of Washington, passed away on July 28, 2017 at the Warren Haven Nursing Home.

Margaret was born to the late Charles and Jeannette (Bauer) Kauffman on July 25, 1928 in Kearney, New Jersey.  

She was married to the late John McLaughlin who preceded her in death in 1978.  

Margaret was born and raised in Kearney, NJ and attended Kearney High School.  She was a high school track star.  After marrying and moving to Washington, Margaret became a loving homemaker for her family.  She was a member of The Washington Women’s Club, the 101 Foundation, and St. Joesph’s Roman Catholic Church.

Margaret is survived by her sons; James McLaughlin and wife Theresa of Washington, NJ, Robert McLaughlin, John McLaughlin of Kendall, NJ; her daughter Jeannette O’Bryon and her husband Jim of Asbury, NJ; grandchildren Renee Wood, Keith Polidoro, Eric O’Bryon, Brian McLaughlin, Sean McLaughlin, Bobby McManus, Kelly McLaughlin, John McLaughlin, and Jimmy McLaughlin and nine great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother Charles Kauffman, sister Loretta Royer, and a grandson Nathan O’Bryon.

A Viewing will be held on August 5, 2017 from 10-12:00 pm with a funeral service following at 12:00pm.  Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery in Washington, NJ.
