Obituary of Genevieve Ellen Symonds
Genevieve Symonds, of Lebanon Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2017. She was born to Ellen & Jacob Twining of Washington, NJ on March 1, 1931. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948 where she was a drum majorette and President of Future Business Leaders of America. She married Howard Symonds of Lebanon Township in 1950, where they made their home for the rest of their lives. She was very active within the community throughout her lifetime. She served as President for both the Lebanon Twp. Ladies Auxiliary & Lebanon Twp. PTA for many years. She won election as a Republican State Committeewoman for 6 years.
Genevieve owned & operated several successful businesses, including S & S Business Service, The Pappagallo Shoe Store, and The Glamour Shop – all in Clinton, NJ.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling extensively with her Husband, Howard, & their two sons, Jess & Bryce. Their many adventures took them across the globe, with favorite spots being hunting in Africa & Wyoming, and fishing in Mexico & Canada. They also enjoyed their nearly annual trips to Disney with their 3 granddaughters. Above all, Genevieve adored her life in her beloved Lebanon Township shared with her many friends and cherished family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Symonds (2013) and her son Bryce (2015). She had 3 brothers, Parker, Bill, & Rush Twining. She is survived by a sister, Jacqueline Mueller. Genevieve is also survived by her son Jess, and his wife Marnie, and three granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Lindsay & Tori Symonds.
