Obituary of William Mirz
William L. Mirz, age 83, of Easton, PA, formerly of Long Island NY, died Monday August 24, 2009 at Easton Care Center of Easton, PA.
William was born June 26, 1926 in New York City, NY a son of the late Louis and the late Margaret (Lutz) Mirz. He was the husband of Frances (Buttner) Mirz.
He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed by Ebasco Engineering, New York City as a Principal Designer.
William was an active member of the New Apostolic Church, Washington, NJ. He enjoyed bowling and golfing as well as spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his wife: Frances Mirz of Easton, PA; two sons, Peter Mirz and his wife Susan of Sparta, NJ and Michael Mirz and his wife Marie of Greenville, NC; five grandsons, Daniel, David, Reid, Logan, Bennett and one granddaughter, Madison.
In addition to his parents, William is predeceased by his two sons, William J. and Robert Mirz, two sisters, Sophie Aierle, and Frances Dandurand and one brother George Maul.
The funeral will be held 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 27 at New Apostolic Church, 819 Edwards Rd., Parsippany, NJ. Burial will be in Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY 1175 on Friday, August 28 at 12:00 pm.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 27 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the church.
